The
Church in the Dark Ages
The Early Middle Ages (500-1,000 CE) are often thought of
as an historic wasteland, when civilization and the church stagnated.
Even though we have very few written records of this period – from the

The IPC Book Club
Led by Susan Breen, the group
will meet Tuesday, February 14 at 9:15 am in the Upper Room to discuss Seeds by Richard Horan. This is a charming account of one man's
efforts to visit writers' homes and collect seeds from the trees that inspired
them. Definitely of interest to all who love trees, and, for those who
don't have much time, the book is
divided into many small chapters.
For our March 13 meeting, we will
be reading something a bit more ambitious: Walter Isaacson's biography, Steve
Jobs. (You might want to start reading that today if you hope to finish it
on time.) Books should be available
at the Irvington Public library if you ask the desk for IPC Book club books.
Hope to see you at the meetings. susan@susanjbreen.com

CHIME TIME - 7:15PM
Youth in 6th Grade and older are
invited to COME AND PLAY our brand new set of chimes!
Get more familiar with these instruments, the specific technique needed
to ring them, and master the outs and ins of maintaining and adjusting them.
And YES, the emphasis is on just having fun and PLAYING!
We will try out arrangements written especially for these instruments as
well as explore the creation of our own impromptu arrangements and, all the
while, build up our ensemble skills (and hopefully a group)!
This Friday Night club is serious about having a good time!
Snacks and an after-activity are all part of the evening.
Come try it out… and invite a friend!

Centering Prayer
Please join us for prayer. We
have a 20-minute period of silent,
centering prayer followed by a lectio divina scripture reading and
a
sharing of joys and concerns. This
is a wonderful way to enrich your
prayer life and fellowship. If
you are new to centering prayer, we are
happy to provide more information and instruction.
All are welcome!
