CALL TO WORSHIP

HYMN #150

Come, Christians, Join to Sing

Madrid

INVOCATION

PRAYER OF CONFESSION
O Lord, would that we had a clearer understanding of Your Word, and the ability to trust You at all times. But we do not. Always we are dealing with our limitations; and You are dealing with them as well. Forgive us for not asking for a better understanding of what You are doing in our lives right now. Forgive us for the ease with which we settle for less than Your truth. Forgive us for not doing everything in our power to reconcile our disagreements. Give us open minds and receptive hearts to receive the new life and fresh start You are offering us right now. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

People: Let the sea roar, and all that fills it; the world and those who live in it.
Leader: Let the floods clap their hands; let the hills sing together for joy

OFFERING AND OFFERTORY

In Paradisum

Gabriel Fauré

God's holy angels lead you to paradise: may saints in their glory receive you
at your journey's end, guiding your footsteps into the Holy City Jerusalem.
Choirs of angels sing you to your rest: and with Lazarus raised to eternal life,
may you for evermore rest in peace.
