Three churches. One faith. One Lord and Savior.

This year, IPC will join together with St. Barnabas Episcopal Church and Aldersgate United Methodist Church for Ash Wednesday worship.

Forty days of preparation

The season of Lent is upon us. Lent is a season of intentional preparation leading up to the central events of the Christian faith–Jesus’ crucifixion and Jesus’ resurrection. Historically, Lent has been associated with penance, prayer, fasting, and almsgiving (giving to the poor and those in need). The purpose of these spiritual practices is to clear the debris accumulated on our mind, body, soul, and heart, so that the life of Christ might shine in and through us.

Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent. Worship on Ash Wednesday invites us to take stock of our life, reflecting on our morality and our mortality and to renew our need for and our commitment to Jesus Christ.
