Pastor Nominating Committee Update

Dear IPC:

I am pleased to announce that we expect our proposed pastor candidate to preach to our congregation on January 17, 2021 in what is known as the Candidating Service. (The date must be approved by the Committee of Ministry of our Presbytery, but we are hopeful that will happen.)

A Special Congregational Meeting will follow immediately after the January 17 Candidating Service (all on Zoom). At that meeting, the PNC intends to present a motion for approval of the call of this candidate. All active members of IPC will have voice and vote. We pray for an affirmative vote from our church family. This vote will conclude the process of our calling our new pastor.

We cannot provide you as yet with more specific information about our candidate as he has not yet advised his current congregation that he has accepted our call. However, the Session has met and approved the Final Terms of Call. This is the compensation package that has been offered to and has been accepted by the candidate. Further logistical details will follow, when negotiated.

The PNC has worked for almost a year now and we feel especially blessed to have found such a strong candidate to be our Installed Pastor. We believe that the we have paid heed to the guidance of the Spirit of God. We are very excited by these developments and we know you are too, and we look forward to your participation at the Special Congregational Meeting on January 17.

Blessings,

Reuben Garcia,

Chair Pastor Nominating Committee
