Fall Worship

Beginning on September 12, IPC will re-open its doors for in-person worship in the sanctuary. Worship will begin at 10:30 a.m. We are eager and excited to welcome you all back for in-person worship. The Delta variant has slightly changed some of our plans. Please read the following which provides a thorough overview of what to expect on September 12:

  1. Worship attendance will be limited to allow for safe distancing for all present. Pews will be marked off to maintain social distancing.
  2. We ask worshippers to attend only if they are healthy, are showing no signs or symptoms of illness, and have not had any known exposure to COVID-19 in the preceding two weeks. Please worship from home if any of these criteria are not met; services will stream on Facebook and YouTube.
  3. Sanctuary doors will open at 10:10 a.m. We ask thatĀ all individuals enter through the sanctuary doors. Ushers will seat you. Please do not enter through the parlor, which will be reserved for worship leaders, the production team, and section leaders. Once seated, we ask you not to get up and move around the sanctuary. There will be opportunity to connect with others during coffee hour.
  4. Nursery care will be available for young children. The nursery is located beneath the church office in John Knox Hall.
  5. Sunday School children should go directly to their classrooms for a 10:30 start time. They will not be in the sanctuary for the first part of worship.
  6. All worshippers must wear acceptable face coverings regardless of vaccination statusfor the duration of the worship service.
  7. All worshippers will be required to sign a logbook.
  8. The Section Leaders will sing as part of the worship service.
  9. The Chancel Choir and congregational singing will not be part of worship initially upon return to the sanctuary. However, congregational singing will be incorporated when it is safe and acceptable.
  10. When communion is celebrated, individual servings of the elements will be available for worshippers.
  11. Offering plates will be available by entrances/exits. Plates will not be passed as part of the worship service.
  12. Hand sanitizer stations will be located at all entrances/exits.
  13. During worship, the windows and doors of the sanctuary will be open and our air extraction system will be running to exceed recommendations for air exchanges.
  14. Coffee Hour will be hosted by the Deacons on the front lawn of the church following the worship service.

The 10:30 a.m. worship livestream will continue in its current format throughout the summer months. This service will include the full liturgy, including music.
